Join us to enjoy new films or to take part Oct 2021 – Mar 2022 in this 3-part project kindly supported by the National Lottery through the BFI Film Audience Network.
What is the project?
At the Palace, we love all kinds of film, from heritage and classic cinema to Bond to the latest indie films from around the world. Over the last couple of years, we’ve appreciated even more how film can transport us to the stories of people in other places and cultures. This project focuses on and celebrates new films from around the world – all foreign language, all exciting, all pushing the boundaries of how to explore in film the human condition in relation to a particular time/place and physical landscape.
This project opens up world cinema for Palace audiences in 3 ways:
For everyone:
We began in October in Brazil with THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF EURIDICE GUSMAO (Karim Aïnouz, 2019), then in November onto Japan for DRIVE MY CAR (Ryusuke Hamaguchi, 2021) and December to France for Petite Maman (Celine Sciamma, 2021). In January we head to Iran for A HERO (Asghar Farhadi, 2021) and then Colombia for MEMORIA (Apichatpong Weerasethakul, 2021), with more great films to follow! Each film has one show with a short introduction at a reduced ticket price of £5.
Pick up a free ‘Palace Passport’ and get a stamp for each film – get 3 stamps and your 4th film is FREE!
